Meeting Blake
By Porter ~
As our faithful readers know, we often camp with our uncles Ron and Dario. We just love them and were super excited when mom told us we would be spending the weekend with them at Stub Stewart Memorial Park! What we didn’t know, what was a HUGE surprise to us, is that this time they brought their own pup, Blake.
The Life we Lead
By Porter ~
Our life has been changed up since mom and dad sold our house and we moved into town. In some ways, Aspen and I aren’t quite as happy. Without our dog door and big yard to roam, our days are spent either lounging on the bed and couch in the house, or on the back deck, both fine options but not delivering the energy release of our former life. Aspen, definitely an outdoor dog, misses being able to spend her evenings lounging on the grass in the front yard. In addition, I am almost always on the leash as we walk through neighborhoods rather than racing about our two acres.
Dogs on the Road Interview ~ Carlos of Passports and Postcards
It’s been some time since the Black Dogs offered up another traveling pup in our Dogs on the Road series. This time up we give you Carlos, from Passports and Postcards.
Finding Nirvana
By Aspen~
Last weekend mom & dad brought us to the lake. Not just any lake, but a lake where our group had our own little beach. A lake that was only a foot or so deep for a very long ways into the water. A lake where I got to swim and fetch and nap and roll in the sand and do it all over again. A lake where mom and dad left me off leash nearly all weekend, and even Porter got to spend time frolicking free. In other words. Doggie Nirvana.
The Holes we Dig ~ or, the day Aspen tunneled out AGAIN!
By Porter ~
I love my adopted sister, Aspen, I really do. But I do NOT understand what is with that dogs crazy desire to escape our own personal doggie nirvana. I mean, we have 2 lush acres to roam, several sheds to loaf under, our private swimming pool, AND a dog door into the climate controlled house where comfy pads call out for naps. I even have my very own shavings pile that mom put under cover but near the driveway so I can stay warm and dry while I wait for them to come home. And yet, yesterday Aspen decided digging under the blackberry bushes to get into the neighbors horse pasture was a good idea.
Celebrating a BIG Anniversary
By Aspen ~
Last weekend, Porter and I were SO lucky because we got to spend an extra long weekend with mom & dad at camp. The destination, Timothy Lake, one of our favorites. The reason, mom & dad were celebrating something they call a wedding anniversary. Now, I have no idea what a wedding is, and less what an anniversary means, but apparently they have now been married for 25 years. It seemed like a big deal, even in human years, but can you imagine….. thats like 175 dog years, no wonder they say they’re old!
The Black dogs hit the Road!
By Aspen ~
We were thrilled to FINALLY be back on the road for more camping adventures! Mom and dad sent us to doggie camp at Critter Nanny recently while they ran off to some place called Mexico. Apparently they’ve been there before and really love it. It sounds like a place Porter and I would like and mom & dad promise that the next time they go there we get to go with them! I can’t wait.
