I am not sure what is wrong with the humans in my life, but it has been MORE THAN A MONTH since mom and dad took us to the beach, or even camping anywhere! They say they’re busy, they’re fixing up the house, etc etc. I say whatever! They have taught us how to be traveling dogs and we want to travel.
We just returned from an AMAZING trip to the beach with mom and dad and Porter is well into a blog post about it, but in the meantime we got yet another great Dogs on the Road interview with Sheelah and Miro from Paws on Tour!
Please offer up a short blurb about who you are? Age? Who else is in your family?
We are the canine Overlanders Sheelah, 13 and Miro, 11 years of age. We have been traveling through the Americas in a Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75 with our humans Michel and Ursi since early May 2012 and have more or less 6 months left until we return home to Switzerland.
Next up in our Dogs on the Road interview series is Frankie of Follow the Hound. Frankie is our first interview with a European hound so enjoy his perspective on traveling the world.
Hi Frankie! Tell us a little about yourself.
Tell us a little bit about where you have traveled with your family. Have you traveled internationally?
Hi, I’m Frankie, I travel the world with my wonderful owners Ross and Dinia in our old VW Syncro. I’m a Posavac Hound who had a tough life before they found me, but its all great now, and Ross says I will hopefully be the first dog to visit all 7 continents!
It started, a few years ago, I grew up in an area where there are hundreds of dogs roaming the streets, looking for food and trying to stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, one day I was sniffing around the forest and I got my paw stuck in an animal trap. I don’t know how long I was there for, but by the depth of the cuts and how skinny I was, Ross thinks it was for nearly a week!
Luckily, just before it was too late, Ross and Dinia found me while they were camping in their old Land Rover and they decided to share food with me and show me some TLC. They stayed with me for 2 days feeding me and playing with me, but when they thought I was getting better, they had to move on. They started to drive away and I got very upset as these were the nicest people I had ever met. As they pulled away, I started running and luckily, after 2 miles, Ross spotted me in his wing mirror and decided that he was going to keep me!
3 years on now and although I like to escape and run around chasing deer (I am a hound after all) I still live and travel with Ross and Dee. They have even decided to name their website after me. Id love if you would take a look at our adventures at: http://www.followthehound.com
Hi Aspen & Porter!
My name is Penny Rose or “Penster” as my humans Corey and Emily sometimes call me. I think I am 1 or 2 years old but it’s just a number. I think I’m still a puppy! I am a true lover of the outdoors. Going on bike rides, running on the beach, and catching frisbees is what I live for.

Monday was Aspens second year as a Delameter! I am so happy mom and dad brought her home to play with me because I was SO lonely and unhappy when I was home by myself all day. We like to go camping for our birthdays but this year mom and dad raced right home from work to watch some football game. It was nice to have us all there, together, but I would have rather been camping.
We begin our year of adventure with an interview with Karm, the Wonderdog, who travels with her parents, Bryan and Jen, at http://thedangerz.com.
1. Please offer up a short blurb about who you are? Age? Who else is in your family?
My name is karma (as in good karma).
My parents tried to make the name “Karma the wonderdog” stick…but its a mouthful. I guess I’m nine but i like to think of myself as a spring chick since I’ll likely outlive my folks. My parents are Bryan and Jen. Known in some circles as the dangerz, but nobody really knows why as it doesn’t fit their personalities- they’re pushovers!
I’m a libra, i shed more then you might think is possible, I love belly rubs and honestly…(not to brag or anything) but I’m like the best behaved dog on the planet, seriously. Do you know any other dog that doesn’t own a leash and will just lay outside of a bar for hours on end while their family goes inside to watch a game? They’re so spoiled.

Hello! I speak for the dogs when I say – Thank you for the opportunity to be interviewed. There are three of us that travel with www.slowcarfasthouse.com but, since I am the oldest and wisest, I will take charge of this interview. I am Seri, named for the Seri Indians near Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico. I am 9 years old and I adopted Mike and Geneva when I was just 8 weeks old. I came from a rescue group in Prescott, Arizona My brother-by-another-mother is Zeb. Hs is a bout 8 years old and his name is about all we know about him from before he adopted us. He was abandoned in a foreclosed home in Phoenix when he was 3 and Geneva found him through a rescue group. Zeb and I are Catahoula Leopard dogs. We both have the same color fur but different body types. Our little sister-by-another-mister is Mango. She is about 6 years old. She came from a resuce in Phoenix and has a story of her own to tell, if you have time to listen. She is a Chihuahua/Daschund mix and loves to be carried like a baby. We each play a very different role in our family, but we work together to keep each day entertaining and joyful!

Although Porter and I both love to eat, I am the acknowledged porker here in the house, so I am taking on this post! Mom and dad think our health is super important, and so they make sure to feed us really good food. The kibble we get to eat is by Infinia, and we often get to choose between some delicious flavors like Salmon and Sweet Potato, Bison and potato, and Chicken and Wild Rice! Dad grumps about how expensive it is, but he is awfully happy that our shedding has greatly subsided and everyone comments on how fantastic our coats look.

Thanksgiving day, that one day a year where everyone seems to cook and cook forever, and then complain that they’ve eaten too much. This year, Aspen and I got screwed. For the first time in awhile, mommy wasn’t the one cooking the turkey, apparently the traditional thing to eat on that day. It has something to do with pilgrims but, I always stop listening because I have no idea who these pilgrims are, and I really don’t care. I’m mainly just concerned about getting a bite or two of turkey! Aspen, on the other hand, is obsessed with it. A true lab, she’ll eat nearly anything and basically thinks she’s hungry all the time. For some reason we don’t understand, this year we drove with mom and dad to grandma and grandpas house but then, (!) instead of staying to eat turkey, we were locked in the room that is our bedroom when we visit and left there! Silly Aspen, always happy to please, jumped up on the bed a top our Ducks blanket as told. I caught on to their ploy at the last second and tried to turn tail and head for the door but mom snagged me and back in I went. Humiliating.
