Well, my circumstances have changed YET again!
After leaving the United States, mom and dad drove us back into Mexico and I could not have been happier. Mexicans are so much nicer about letting me go everywhere with my family AND I get to go on all the beaches, not just stinky dog beach like in San Diego.
I have been having a bit of a tough time this two weeks. Porter was my family, my pack, and with him gone we are all sad. Mom and dad don’t cry all the time, anymore, but I know they wish he was still with us. Being a dog, I don’t fully understand it all, but I do know my little buddy was really sick and now isn’t with us anymore. I’m so glad we got to spend that last day together though, and that mom and dad let me be in the room when he went to sleep so I could touch his nose and tell him goodbye in my own way. Now I am finding my way on my own.
We are thrilled to share Gracie’s interview you on our Dogs on the Road series. We camped with Gracie and her people, Sunny and Karin, just a few weeks ago on a gorgeous beach in Baja. What a joy to actually get to play with one of the dogs on our blog!
First, I want to thank you for the opportunity to speak on my own behalf. I’m not a big talker but my mom doesn’t usually let me get a word in when people ask me about myself.
Today’s interview is with another truly inspiring pup. Not only is Sora a worldwide traveler, but she does much of it on her own four paws!!! Her parents are biking from Patagonia home to Portland, Oregon, after having already biked around Europe. Wow, I’m tired just thinking of that! Enjoy my interview with this inspiring dog, whom I can’t wait to meet on the road.
This week we had to say goodbye to my brother, Porter, when he went to doggie heaven. I knew he hadn’t been feeling well and those last couple of days I could tell he was really sick. Mom already wrote about that bad, bad day. What I want is to remember all the good times we had. I am feeling very sad and out of sorts myself so I decided to just do a pictorial of all of the fun times we had together.

Yesterday I spent the day cuddling Porter. The wind is blowing so hard it’s no fun at the beach, well that is at least what mom says, and it even rained!!! Now, when I say it rained I mean actual rain. Last time it “rained” on us in Baja it was something like seven raindrops. Yesterday and this morning it actually RAINED.. almost like at home but just for a lot shorter time. But nonetheless, mom and dad declared it a lazy day in the camper with them working on their computer stuff that they seem to spend so much time on and Porter and I napping at their feet.
While we are spending lazy days running the beaches of Baja, we are still in touch with all of our fellow doggie travelers. Next up in our Dogs on the Road series is Maya of A Gypsy Tail.

HI! My name is Maya. I am an almost 7 year old Border Collie Mix from San Diego, California. Right now it is just my mom and I travelling. I don’t have any brothers or sisters but we make lots of friends on the road.

We’ve now been on the road with mom and dad for two months and it is FANTASTIC. Our road life is endless togetherness, lots of time outdoors and, most importantly for me, many hours a day spent running the beach and swimming in the sea.
Next up in our Dogs on the Road interview series; Helen who is traveling with her mom and dad through Latin America, just like we are! They were in Baja at the same time but we didn’t get to meet her as they have already gone to the mainland. Hopefully our paths will cross on the other side!
Hello everyone, thanks for this great opportunity to tell all my fellow dogs about my adventure. I am a Beagle, my parents say I am still a puppy because I am 20 months old, but I am not a puppy! I am a teenager, oh well they do say I act like it sometimes because they say I am stubborn and have an attitude, I really don´t know what they are talking about, I am an angel! My dad and my mom decided to take a year to travel from Houston, TX all the way to Ushuaia, Argentina. I don´t know how far that is, but they have taken me on some small trips and they say I have done well on the road, so they decided to take me. Plus why would they leave me behind!?
