Hi Aspen & Porter!
My name is Penny Rose or “Penster” as my humans Corey and Emily sometimes call me. I think I am 1 or 2 years old but it’s just a number. I think I’m still a puppy! I am a true lover of the outdoors. Going on bike rides, running on the beach, and catching frisbees is what I live for.
Tell us a little bit about where you have traveled with your family. Have you traveled internationally? Within the US?.
I was rescued from a shelter in Cottonwood, Arizona on April 19, 2014. We drove up the entire west coast then made a long drive back to New England for the summer months. After a few blissful months of running free on Corey’s parents property and cruising the beaches near Emily’s parents house we hit the road again. In the last 2 months we drove to the Florida Keys and then back west to San Diego.
What is your favorite place to travel? Do you like hiking the mountains? Running on the beach?
I love anything outside! I love to follow my humans on bike rides, hikes and running for hours on the beach chasing anything that flies or rolls.
When you’re traveling do you camp? Stay at hotels? Rent houses?
When traveling we always stay in the van. Sometimes we stay in campgrounds or driveways, but I really love it when we stay in the National Forests. Then I get to run FFFFFFFRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Do you have a hard time finding good quality food and water on the road?
I usually eat dog food that my humans buy for me from the yuppie health food stores they get their own food from. They always tell me how much my food costs, but I’m like “whatever”. I usually request coconut oil and raw egg on my food, but I only get that a few times a week. My humans try to only give me filtered water but I love drinking from puddles. Silly humans.
Have you had any problems with other dogs, either playing at dog parks, or street dogs when traveling?
I love all dogs. I can be a little shy and nervous at first, but when I find a playmate it’s on! Every dog tries to hump me, but I roll on my back and give them a ninja kick and they get the point that I am not that type of girl.
What don’t you like about traveling? A different bed? Strange water?
I love to travel, but it’s hard when all I want to do is run free in the woods and I have to be on a leash or inside a fence. Somedays I wish I could just run out the door and explore for hours.
