I can’t believe its been two months since I did a blog post but I have been one busy black dog meetin’ and greetin’. It may seem idyllic to spend winters lounging about Baja but believe me, the job of a black dog ambassador is never done.
Well, here it is, another birthday. Mom & dad STILL can’t seem to decide how old they think I am since I’m adopted. But what I do know is that this is my 5th birthday as a Delameter and believe me, I am one lucky dog.
So, you know how dogs don’t really appreciate time? And how we age seven years for each human year? Well, I admit to not paying much attention to time but I DO know it took us a long time to get down here to Baja!
Life is still steaming along here at Camp Coeur D’Alene. Although my job as camp ambassador is as important as ever, with the shorter days, colder nights, and fewer guests I am getting some much-needed nap time in. On this front, mom & dad went a little bit nuts and decided to get me a luxurious new home!
I have to say it, I’m exhausted. SO much has been happening here at camp that the summer is flying by. Things for mom and dad have totally changed up and now they’re managing this place so are busier than ever. And guess what, this makes my life busier as well! But, it is all in a tough day’s work for this camp ambassador.
I have to say… I am one busy black dog. Acting as camp ambassador is simply exhausting. In addition, this black dog is out and about with mom and dad all the time. This last month has seen us visiting other towns, checking out parks and hiking trails, and even spent a couple of nights at some apartment mom called an Airbnb.
Well, I have just got to thank mom and dad for bringing me here to Camp Coeur D’Alene! I am having the best time as camp ambassador. It’s really nice here with SO much to smell. Every day we go on hikes and long walks. I get to play fetch, of course, my very favorite thing and get to go swimming. along with fellow camp dogs Bailey, Zorro, and Freddy.
It’s raining. And I mean it is RAINING. Like all the time. What can I say, I’m just a little dog, but what the hell were mom and dad thinking by heading north and back to Oregon? I mean, it’s raining! And cold. And there is no beach to run on every day. I guess you can tell by my tone a lot has happened since my last update.
Next up in my interview series is another rescue pup, Taquita from Home on the Highway. My mom and dad have followed her parents, James and Lauren, trip down the Pan Am highway for several years now. We were all thrilled to hear that they had decided to rescue a little pup they found abandoned and alone along a remote stretch of Mexican highway. Here are her thoughts on life on the road.
Well, it’s official. Mom & dad tell me that today is my 4 years as a Delameter birthday! Wow, 4 years already and it’s been quite a ride.
