Barview Jetty ~ Campground Review

By Porter ~

While we have been to Barview Jetty before, we had a completely difference experience this year and I wanted to do a campground review on it. Mom and dad didn’t really want to go, after the pricing debacles of Webb County campground last month, they claimed it was too expensive for what you get. Last year we were on the end site, right next to the beach, which SHOULD have been wonderful, but it was very crowded, busy, and noisy with obnoxious people constantly hanging out in front of our camp. I was exhausted from having to be on patrol¬†all the time.

Dog Days at the Beach

By Porter ~

We spend a lot of time at the beach. And we love it, but we had a good talk and want mommy and daddy to know that we would like to go camping somewhere new next time. I know we’re planning to go on some big trip to a place called Overland Expo in May, but in the meantime I think a new camping adventure would be good.

Campground Review – Nehalem Bay State Park, Oregon

By Porter –¬† If we had to choose a favorite campground by number of visits, Nehalem Bay State Park would be the certain winner! On the Oregon coast, Nehalem Bay is a typical Oregon State Park, featuring well-maintained sites, good facilities, and a variety of dog friendly activities. What I like best about Nehalem Bay is that there are often large herds of Elk that come through the campground between the actual campground and the beach. This makes for EXCELLENT smelling and marking opportunities. There is a wonderful 4 mile long spit of beach to play on and, even better, at one end is the town of Manzanita. They love dogs there and have many restaurants with outdoor seating as well as a wonderful pet store, Four Paws on the Beach that I like to browse and check out new toys.
